The Perfect Tree

We did it. We got our FIRST EVER real Christmas tree! No more mini apartment trees. We have the REAL deal this year. And we went all out. Our adventure consisted of a trip to the tree farm. We took a hay ride out to the field, cut down our prize tree, had some free hot chocolate and candy canes, and loaded the 7 ft tree into our Ford Focus {you should be impressed}. Then we broke out some good Christmas music and got busy decorating!

My mom crocheted and starched these snow flake ornaments. She had a tradition of giving us a new ornament for Christmas every year. Then when we decorated our tree each child had their own box of ornaments to hang up. When I got married, she gave me my box of ornaments. Its fun every year for me to pull out my box of ornaments and see all the old dates and remember past Christmases! The teddy bear is from 1988 and the stocking {sewn by my crafty mom} is from 1985. Its a tradition we are carrying on with Ava.
