Yup, it was delicious. As in, I lost all self control and gained 5 lbs, delicious.
I had been planning on making some fruit pizza, but was short some of the ingredients for the recipe I usually use, so I tweaked a couple different recipes to fit what I had on hand.
As my mom can tell you, I am kind of notorious for my kitchen creations. Mainly because as a kid, a lot of my invented recipes were train wrecks. My family STILL teases me about an attempt to make a orange creamsicle drink from tang and coffee creamer. {In my defense, I was only 8 or 9} But I'd like to think that now my hits are WAY more frequent than my misses. And I am classifying this fruit pizza as a hit... so welcome to my kitchen!
I started with a basic sugar cookie recipe from a church cook book. The recipe called for sour cream, which we didn't have, so I substituted yogurt.
After the cookie dough was baked and cooled, I topped it with a cream cheese mixture. Something like cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cool whip.
Then I topped that with sliced strawberries.
Then I melted up some chocolate chips and drizzled them over the whole thing. A little unconventional maybe for fruit pizza. But chocolate and dessert were made for each other.
So good!
