Our New Apartment: The Dining Room

Okay, so it's not really a new apartment anymore.  When we moved in a year and a half ago, I promised my family (they haven't been able to come visit) to post pictures of the rest of the house so they could picture where we were living.  So far, I've only showed them Ryan's man cave because its the only completed room in the house.  Going from 800 to 1800 square feet has left us a lot of blank walls and empty rooms to fill and this year decorating has just not been a top priority.  Why is it money always ends up going to boring necessities things like car repairs and board exam fees? But at long last anther room has been completed!  So here it is.... drum roll please.... our dining room!

Getting a dining room was one of the things I was most excited about when we moved in last year  Eating on the couch with a toddler wasn't a very ideal arrangement :) Since we didn't own any dining furniture, right before we moved in, Ryan found this table for a steal on craigslist (it has a leaf to expand for company) and we love it.  We also got some cheap chairs on craigslist.  Cheap but not so much a steal. None of them matched, they weren't my style, and they were pretty scratched up.  But for only $5, they were a great money saver for the time.  But they having been falling apart and it was only a matter of time before they gave out while someone was sitting on them.  So out with the old and in with the new!

Also if you care to know, the hutch was another craiglist find from 4 years ago and the mirror we've also had forever.  The rug, curtains, and flowers were all awesome clearance finds I've gathered over the last year.  And the candles on the hutch I grabbed at walmart today because I wanted the room to finally be done :)
