June

36 weeks!  There is officially 18 days remaining until this little girl arrives.  That is unless she has other plans and surprises us by coming early.  At my last doctor's appointment, I learned I was 100% effaced and that her head has dropped into place, although I'm not dilated at all.  My doctor thought there was a good chance I'd go into labor before my scheduled c-section.  Since we have already carefully planned Ryan's time off and my mom coming to help, we are keeping our fingers crossed that this baby sticks to the plan. At this point I'm pretty uncomfortable and the reflux is miserable.  I also am feeling a bit overly emotional. I'm blaming most of this on hormones, but I am also excited, anxious, nervous all at the same time.  I cried for the first time in probably years the other day, and yes, it was about something that didn't warrant tears.

Furniture assembly! Ryan had a week of vacation this month and we spent part of that week putting together all the furniture for the baby.  The first picture is her actual crib that is going in Ava's room. (Stay tuned for a decorating post!)  The second picture is the cradle that is going in our bedroom. Until the baby is sleeping through the night and Ava has adjusted to being a big sister (notice all the pillows and stuffed animals she threw into the crib) the baby will sleep in our room.   Ryan spent the rest of his vacation pimping out his man cave (again stay tuned for decorating post), hanging out with his brother before they left, and moonlighting to make money for baby.

The pool!  Before the other Longmores moved away, we all went to the pool together.  Ava had a blast!  Sorry about the fingers in the pictures.  I love the looks on Ava's face in those pictures-- such a shame my clumsy fingers ruined the picture! I was focusing more on not dropping my new iphone in the water and less on photographic quality.

I got a hair cut.  I love short hair and have been wanting to chop it all off, but I decided to give long hair another chance.  I tend to cycle through seeing someone with thick, long, gorgeous hair followed by attempting to grow it out, then realizing my hair doesn't look like that when its long.  Not to mention it doesn't seem to cooperate and after a few hours in Kansas City humidity goes weird anyway.  And then I want my cute, short hair back, so I cut it off.   I am hoping layers will give me some patience.

We went to a Royals game with the other Longmores and  Rosemary's family, the Coles.  We did quite a bit with Lance & Rosemary's family this month, as they moved back to Idaho yesterday, but I failed to get photographic evidence of most of it.

Ryan got eaten a live by chiggers while helping his brother with some yard work on their moving day.  I have been teasing him that he looks like he has some strange disease and could be featured in a medical text book.  There are a lot more bites, but this is a family blog ;) He is pretty miserable and we have been trying all sorts of crazy remedies.  He has scrubbed himself down with everything from witch hazel to mouth wash, but still itches.  Poor guy.  We may never go near grass again :)

I can't believe this month is over!  It seems like it just flew by.  Can't wait to see what July brings!
