I wrote this post a month ago, but I never got around to actually posting it. So, albeit delayed, here it is:
The last 5 weeks we've spent mostly at home, adjusting to life as a family of four and savoring time with our two sweet girls. I'm pleased to say it's been a fairly smooth adjustment. I'm still feeling a little flustered trying to fine tune the balancing act of meeting the needs of both a busy toddler and a newborn, but really I have no reason to complain. Lily has been a very sweet, easy baby and Ava has been a champion big sister (plus she still takes a long afternoon nap).
This is one of my favorite pictures. It's also the first picture of all four of us together:
We all look horrible here, but it probably accurately depicts what the last 5 weeks have been like: the joy, the sleep deprivation, the all day pajama parties, and lots of cuddle time.
Ava begs all the time to hold Lily. She does a great job.
Ava sharing her favorite stuffed animals with Lily. She really is the best big sister! She also loves to fetch diapers, pick out clothes from the dresser for Lily, turn on the baby swing, and is super patient to wait for her turn to be helped.
Some alone time finger painting with Ava
We just love our two little girls so much!!
You all look so happy! Congrats again!
